Video: Waterton Lakes National Park, one year post-fire

One year after the Kenow wildfire burned large areas of Waterton Lakes National Park, plants are growing on the now-sunny forest floor as part of the cycle of rebirth that these forests are adapted to.

This video by the Weather Network provides a glimpse of the regenerating forest in Waterton. It features a great explanation of what happens when these forests burn and how they might grow back by Barb Johnston (Wildlife and Aquatics Specialist, Waterton Lakes National Park).
